Will be allowed to a certain extent but be warned, see below.

I know the OVR changes when the player changes positions, but using my Jason Taylor example again he started the season as a 73 OVR rated DE (75/82/17/82/36/83/18/17/25/84/91/27/20), I switched him to a LB and he dropped to a 60 OVR rated LB (stats are still 75/82/17/82/36/83/18/17/25/84/91/27/20).
I then compared him to some of my pre-existing LBs.
Torbor 60 OVR - 67/79/16/81/44/70/10/48/11/80/80/14/12
Anderson 61 OVR - 68/78/24/78/58/74/11/48/10/77/74/18/18
Ayodele 73 OVR - 74/83/17/82/48/77/15/45/15/86/83/26/21
He is hands down better in every single attribute than both Torbor and Anderson and is rated the same and 1 point worse. He is also almost identical to Ayodele and betters him in a couple of areas and is 13 OVR points lower.
I am just trying to determine if each player has positional ratings that affect OVRs in the background much like potential, or if the OVR calculation is being thrown off by the position changes. I understand that the OVR will change as each position has a different weighting of favored stats, but it does seem off when you compare the player to players in the new position.
Just for the record this is with a personal league I am using to test things out and I am using the commish edit rather than the player edit. So do not worry I am not messing around with my players on the NFLSim file

Players who are not at their original position get dinged in various places throughout the game. The Overall rating is modified to reflect this hit.
